#itsyourfuture -Opportunities for 17-24 year olds in Swindon with learning difficulties/disabilities, who are not in education, employment or training, and are looking for work

#itsyourfuture is a new programme commissioned by Swindon Borough Council called ‘#itsyourfuture’ which is being provided by North Wessex Training.  It is for 17 and 18 year olds, and 19 – 24 year olds with learning difficulties/disabilities, who are not in education, employment or training, and are looking for work. #itsyourfuture aims to help young people gain the skills necessary to enter the world of work, help young people gain work experience, and support them in the training and/or work they enter. Louise Wright will be running a programme of group and individual activities for each young person that will include supporting them in their job searches, helping with CV writing, application forms, and interview skills, plus helping them develop their personal and social skills.  She will also be trying to help the young people overcome barriers to learning; supporting them in areas such as housing, health and accessing other services, e.g. children centres, The Platform etc.She will be working with the young people, SBC and various companies to help them find work experience or work placements, and she will provide regular support for the young people by meetings, email, phone and text.

Description: #itsyourfuture is run by North Wessex Training, Swindon. The project aims to help young people gain the skills necessary to enter the world of work, help young people gain work experience, and support them in the training and/or work they enter.

The Project Offer:

#itsyourfuture will be working with Swindon Borough Council and various local companies and volunteer organisations to identify work experience and work placements.
