The Instagram Socialmatic Camera Becomes a Reality... Instagram Just Got Real!

The Instagram Socialmatic Camera Becomes a Reality Under the Polaroid Brand
Remember Socialmatic from last year? The conceptual camera that combines the digital world of Instagram and the analog world of Polaroid? Well, it’s about to become a reality.
That’s because the rights to make and market products under the Polaroid brand have just been granted to Socialmatic LLC, the company founded by the person behind the concept, Antonio De Rosa.
Specifically, the Polaroid brand, which is owned by PLR IP Holdings and marketed by C & A, will be attached to the upcoming camera. So, it shall be known as the Polaroid Socialmatic Camera.
What's really cool are the features that bring the social part of Instagram to life. With its two lenses, one for main capture and another for 3D fliters, webcam applications and QR code-capturing, you can snap and edit pics the way you would using the Instagram app and then post them straight to Facebook,Twitter, and of course, Instagram
It will be equipped with Wi-Fi/3G connectivity and 16GB of onboard storage. It will also have a SC-HD slot for external storage.
Most interestingly, it will let you print out your photos right from the camera and share it IRL.
Release is planned for early 2014

SNAPS Spring Bash 2013!!!!!!!

There have been so many occasions where I have heard people say things like "the youth of today wouldn't misbehave or hang around in big groups outside shops if they had somewhere to go". This is a statement that I myself, and I'm sure many others agree with, in the sense that if there were exciting places to hang out, exhilarating things to do, then maybe our youth would be a whole lot happier. I mean, we all tend to do random things when we are faced with utter boredom. So lets change that. Let's give young people more things to do. Lets create places where they actually would enjoy being. Let's create activities that they would actually like to take part in.
Which links me nicely to this..

Kieth Leahy, a man behind SNAPS (Swindon Needs A Proper Skatepark) is campaigning for a 'free to ride concrete paradise' in Swindon town.
The idea is to create a themed park based on the railways. Real rails for grinding, a platform, sleepers and so on. A really industrial but beautiful place to ride.

Imagine..
An exciting place where young people can go to express their culture, be themselves, socialise, and develop/learn skating skills.
obviously this isn't going to solve every problem facing the youth, but it's definitely a great start! It's ideas like this that keep our communities thriving. When a group of people decide to make a change, and bring a positive new project to their home town. This is definitely one of those life changing projects, that will see a lot of youths much happier. This project has even been backed by superstar DJ Fatboy Slim when he performed at the Oasis Swindon.

Due to the current economic climate SNAPS cannot rely on donations from local sources such as Swindon Borough Council, so are aiming to raise funds themselves as well as applying for lottery grants and corporate sponsorship.

They have already held a couple of really successful fundraisers, that I had the pleasure of attending and are they are now promoting the next exciting bash which will take place on Easter Sunday, featuring skate, BMX, Scoot comps, DJ's, Slacklines, Graff artists, Roller derby girls, raffle draw (win a Jet BMX worth over £200), Crazy easter races, tombola, tuck shop,  & of course TYLP will be there, so come and chill out and raise some cash for the SNAPS campaign.
See picture below for more event details.

Christian Louboutin ‘Tattoos To Measure’

Louboutin Tattoo Shoes 1 Christian Louboutin Tattoos To Measure
Christian Louboutin just launched a service in all men’s boutiques in Paris, London and Los Angeles that will allow customer’s to let their own tattoos be embroidered on a pair of shoes.
Christian Louboutin about the concept:
‘It started as an idea of a present for a friend, I made a pair of shoes for him embroidered with his tattoo. A lot of my friends have tattoos, I realised that it’s not only just a part of pop culture but a bit of a map on someone’s body which says something about people. A part of their life, like an armour or a crest. Instead of carrying someone else’s crest on a loafer, I thought it would be a modern armouries , your own crest on your own shoe. Instead of a classical made to measure bespoke shoe, which other men’s shoe brands do very well, this is my modern approach to bespoke.’
The service is also available for ladies, where four classic styles are offered; the Rollergirl flat, the Louis sneaker, the elegant Belle Ankle boot, and the Highness pump.

CLOSING DATE POSTPONED UNTIL TUESDAY 5th- Football opportunity to Zambia with Swindon Town Football Club. Swindon youths only

Closing date is 5th March and so far there has been little response so late applications may be considered.

Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust is looking for 2 young people to accompany them on their annual trip to support sports development in Livingstone, Zambia.  There will be 10 people going altogether made up of volunteers and community sports coaches.

The trip is all expenses paid, departs on 24th May 2013, returning on 4th June

Applicants must
·         Be aged 16-24
·         Not engaged in Education, Employment or Training.
·         Have an interest in football
·         be willing to undertake some voluntary work with the club and some preparation before the trip
·         have or be able to get a passport
·         be prepared to get the relevant vaccinations

Applications must be made on the attached form and can be posted to Clive Maguire Football in the Community Development Manager at Swindon Town Football Club or emailed to clive@stfc-fitc.co.uk   There is no formal closing date but Clive is keen to start interviewing as soon as possible - there is much to do before departure.

The club understand the impact that this could have on benefit entitlement and are prepared to consider reimbursing JSA for the period customers are abroad.  This will very much depend on individual circumstances though.   It is also very important to stress the activity that must be undertaken prior to departure as this will include volunteering over the Easter Holidays to ensure that candidates can coach and support players (all training and preparation will be provided)

Needless to say that this could be a trip of a life time for two lucky young people.

If you fit the above criteria and would like to apply then please fill out this FORM and email to clive@stfc-fitc.co.uk  or print out and post the completed form to Clive Maguire Football in the Community Development Manager at Swindon Town Football Club .

MOST Hiii

I recently caught up with rich, Nath & josh the designers of new fashion label 'MOST Hiii' a clothing line inspired by hip hop & skate culture.
I remember when MOST Hiii was just an idea, words on a piece of paper and now it's all, finally, coming together.
MOST Hiii 'most elevated one' was born from the talents of Rich, Nathan and Josh.
Together as a team they are dedicated to bringing new and creative ideas to the clothing scene. Their passion infuses their purpose, and their entrepreneurial spirit is the driving force behind every MOST Hiii design whilst embracing the diversity of the new generation.

In my opinion every garment embraces the individuality of the designers with ideas from all three intricately intertwined to produce stylish pieces that show great creativity.
A good mix of talent and passion like that is a rarity these days so show your support...

'Our Story'... The Book

The Youth Life Project needs your help constructing a book titled ‘Our Story’.
TYLP LogoThe book ‘Our Story’ is part of the YouthStories campaign and requires the public to submit real life short stories, poetry and artwork that tell stories about their youth in order to be a success.
YouthStories is a campaign set up by The Youth Life Project to provide a channel through which people can communicate their thoughts, feelings and experiences. The aim of ‘Our Story’ is to bring together real life stories and experiences of people from all age groups through a range of mediums and help the public express experiences of their youth. Once the book is published profits will be used to support The Youth Life Project.
‘Our Story’ is open to entries from people of all ages from across the country. Some examples of stories received so far relate to incidents of abuse, domestic violence, poverty, health issues, bullying, peer pressure and sexual abuse.

We understand the power of storytelling and the burden it can lift for those who have something to get off their chest. Storytelling has taken many forms throughout the ages and we want to embrace as many of these as possible and evoke a range of emotions in the reader.
It seems as though there is a disconnection between young people and adults, ‘Our Story’ will help bridge that gap and show we all experience problems and that someone out there has been through similar situations. The stories from older people will show the youth how they have dealt with things and provide young people with a platform to have their voice. The book is all about having the freedom to express yourself.

We hope this book makes a difference in at least one person’s life. Ideally the book will encourage others to speak out and tell their story, we hope the book will have a positive effect in many ways and on many lives and you have the chance to be part of that.

To be considered for inclusion in ‘Our Story’ please email entries to Danielle via youthlifeproject@gmail.com as soon as possible.
Your entry can take the form of a letter, a short story, artist impression, case study, newspaper article, comic strip, a poem or however you best express your feelings. Your entry must include a title for your entry, your age and be real.
