Which links me nicely to this..
Kieth Leahy, a man behind SNAPS (Swindon Needs A Proper Skatepark) is campaigning for a 'free to ride concrete paradise' in Swindon town.
The idea is to create a themed park based on the railways. Real rails for grinding, a platform, sleepers and so on. A really industrial but beautiful place to ride.
Imagine..
An exciting place where young people can go to express their culture, be themselves, socialise, and develop/learn skating skills.

Due to the current economic climate SNAPS cannot rely on donations from local sources such as Swindon Borough Council, so are aiming to raise funds themselves as well as applying for lottery grants and corporate sponsorship.
They have already held a couple of really successful fundraisers, that I had the pleasure of attending and are they are now promoting the next exciting bash which will take place on Easter Sunday, featuring skate, BMX, Scoot comps, DJ's, Slacklines, Graff artists, Roller derby girls, raffle draw (win a Jet BMX worth over £200), Crazy easter races, tombola, tuck shop, & of course TYLP will be there, so come and chill out and raise some cash for the SNAPS campaign.
See picture below for more event details.
