We are looking for a group of 30 boys who live in the Swindon area and are aged between 7-12 to sign up to a host of football training activities. The first one will take place at the Oasis Leisure Centre, Swindon on Saturday 20th October, 2-4pm.
Our first step is a series of training sessions, so on this day the lads from Cheney FC will be there to teach you all a few skills. The pitch will be split into 4 with each section consisting of- the correct way to pass, how to head a ball, the correct way to tackle, and how to strike a ball.
There will then be a penalty shootout and a 15 minute game at the end to put all their new skills into action.
We are also looking for a group of 8 girls who live in the Swindon area and are aged between 7-12 to sign up as TYLP cheerleaders. The first session will take place at Oasis Leisure Centre between 2-4pm alongside the football activities. The aim of the sessions is for the girls to be official cheerleaders of the soon to be TYLP mini league.
The Youth Life Project, along with Cheney FC and other sporting associations will be working together to host a range of football and other sports related activities, such as boxing, netball, and skateboarding. This is a new incentive set up for youths in Swindon as part of The Youth Life Project's' SAY campaign'. (Swindon's Active Youth campaign)
We will eventually set up a TYLP mini league, along with a sqaud of TYLP cheerleaders!
So if you know someone who would like to get involved then please contact me danielletylp@gmail.com or if you are aged between 7-12 and would like to come along then please have your parent/guardian contact TYLP founder Danielle Brown- danielletylp@gmail.com and sign up today!
