The Youth Life Project
Swindon, May 2012 – Following the launch of The Youth Life Project (TYLP) in October 2011, the registered charity has recently held its first fundraising event taking place in Swindon over the spring. In a bid to raise £2,000 for the charity over a number of events this spring, the fundraiser marked the first landmark event since the formation of The Youth Life Project.
The Youth Life Project aims to restore the faith lost in young people and equip them with the skills required to make positive life choices. Providing a service for young people in the region aged 10-19 to utilise, The Youth Life Project is born from the passion of its founder Danielle Brown for the care and well-being of young people.
The event held at The Running Horse Pub on Wooton Bassett Road, Swindon on Monday 7th May successfully raised over £350 for the charity. On what started as a day with heavy rainfall eventually panned out to be a fun day for all the family, the sun also came out in attendance to mark a memorable day for The Youth Life Project team.
"I am delighted the event went so well" said TYLP founder Danielle Brown. "We were encouraged by the amount of visitors who attended and the feedback from parents was amazing. The best part was seeing the children having a fun on the day as we were a little worried about the weather to begin with. The day was certainly a hit with everyone who enjoyed the activities on offer such as the bouncy castle and Zumba lessons. We even had a karaoke and a disco. It was amazing to see the kids with their faces painted and hair braided in TYLP colours"
"We really did have something suitable for every age group and this will be the platform for more fundraising events for the community to get involved with. The aim of the fundraising events is to raise money for our online youth club 'The Youthy' which we hope will be an even bigger hit for the community.
"We have a number of bigger, more exciting events in the works and will be announcing a date for The Youth Life Project’s official launch party shortly, which will be held late summer 2012. TYLP has come a long way since our formation and we will continue to strive to bring a better tomorrow for our youth," concluded Danielle.
